On Defqon.1 in 2017 Headhunterz announced that he officially returns to hardstyle. To celebrate his return, the artist organised his own party in the Ziggo Dome at the end of September, also known as ‘The Return of Headhunterz’. The line-up consisted out of friends of Headhunterz. During the sets, different old tracks were played to remember the audience of Headhunterz his special style in music.

Ofcourse there were, besides older tracks, also played some new tracks, including the new collab with Sub Zero Project. This track is called ‘Our Church‘ and starts with a pretty hard kick, followed by different sounds that will remember you of a church bell. Finally, the climax comes with a typical Headhunterz melody where you can’t resist yourself from dancing on the beat. Then, more tracks were played as ‘Path of The Hunter‘, ‘On The Block‘ and ‘Can’t Stop Us Now‘ produced with Wildstylez and Noisecontrollers for example.

Also, last week a video appeared on Youtube of another track, named as ‘Taking It Back’. Also this track consists out of typical Headhunterz’ elements. So, this track confirms a return that many hoped for. Headhunterz is back as we used to know him. No complete different new styles, but the same old and pure Headhunterz style with some different influences in it. After ‘Destiny’, this is the second release of the artist since his return to the scene. His new track is previewed here:

Then, the videodescription consists out of a special message. The artists thanks his audience with their full support. He wrote the following message:

Dear Family,

After the warm welcome, the most beautiful night of my life, it is time to start giving back. Time to start contributing new music to the scene so we can make all the memories live forth, but also create many new ones together.

Living up to my official return I slowly began to feel the pressure rising which had a magical effect on my inspiration in the studio. I wanted to get to the essence of what I look for when making music and allow myself to create something out of pure sentiment and nostalgia without thinking too much about current rules or trends. That is exactly what I did when I started out making music when there were absolutely zero expectations from the outside world and what comes out then is exactly that sound that many people associate me with. That is just what happens when I don’t think too much.

Throughout my career there have been ups and downs and I feel connected now to some of my own releases more than others I have done. It’s all been a big learning experience and it still is. In this track I express my vision on the musical direction I desire to go in and that is to keep it as sincere and pure as I can, staying close to that essence inside myself and the essence of how I see Hardstyle.

This is a tribute to all the amazing memories and a taste of what’s to come. Featured on my upcoming mini album, this is Takin It Back.”
