Shortly before Defqon.1 2017, shocking news reached the hardstyle scene, about which many fans hoped it’s just a very bad joke: Deetox got struck by lightning. Unfortunately it turned out to had really happened, but The Queen of Raw luckily recovered and had been back in the game quite fast after the accident. Today, after more than two years, “it’s time to get the last remains of the ‘lightning accident’ fixed…”

Due to the lightning strike, Deetox couldn’t perform at Defqon.1 2017 and that was also the occasion where fans found out about the accident. Two months later at Decibel outdoor, she returned behind the turntables, but still needed “time to fully recover, both mentally and physically”, as she explained in a social media post after the incident. Today, she’s having an operation to heal what was remaining from the accident and on her socials, she informed her fans why she won’t be performing in the upcoming two weeks:

“Since the accident in 2017 I’ve been suffering from cataract in both my eyes and it has only gotten worse since then. Unfortunately cataract is not something that will automatically heal so I need surgery for it. I will be getting 2 lens implant surgeries, a week apart from each other, for both my eyes. That means, I have to take things easy for the next 2 weeks. I’m not looking forward to this but I know it’s for a good cause.”

Ever since she returned on stage, Deetox has been back in full force, with a much nicer exception: she took a break because of her pregnancy around one year ago and gave birth to her hardstyle baby in this year’s January. After that, The Queen of Raw could be found at many events, such as Defqon.1, Intents Festival and IMPAQT.

Deetox: “They say greatness starts with a clear vision”

Deetox closed her info post about the surgery with a positive note: They say greatness starts with a clear vision… See you all again soon (and clear)!” The Hard News team wants to wish Diana a good recovery and hopes she can soon come back on hardstyle stages with a clear vision. Keep an eye on her socials to stay up to date.
