With the upcoming edition approaching, Defqon.1 has just announced the broadcast date of The Release. With the added fourth day of the festival, the program is bigger than ever and there is more than enough to discuss: high time for the unveiling of the full line-up and ‘major news about the anthem’.

READ: “The Defqon.1 RED stage is open for an extra day and the UV will be an ‘all harder styles live’ stage”

Fans look forward to Defqon.1 all year round, but as soon as The Release is announced, you know that the countdown has really started. “Defqon.1 will span across four days for the very first time, and The Release lets our fans prepare for the biggest edition of the festival in a unique way,” says Jonas Schmidt (Creative Director of Q-dance). “The addition of Fresh Friday (Defqon.1’s new full-on festival day) changes the status quo of the festival completely, so we recommend all Weekend Warriors to watch The Release.”

In addition to all information about the renewed program and lots of other stuff, the Defqon.1 ‘Primal Energy’ anthem will also be extensively discussed during the show by hosts E-Life and Audiofreq. Anthem creators D-Block & S-te-Fan released the track in the run-up to the 2020 edition, but never got the chance to play it (with more than 12 million streams) at the largest harder styles festival in the world. So you will hear exactly what will happen to the Defqon.1 2022 anthem during The Release – along with everything you need to know.

Also, Q-dance has made a new aftermovie, with never-seen-before footage from the previous editions. It also contains a lot of brand new music: these can be heard for the very first time in this premiere during The Release.

So put Thursday the 10th of March in your agenda, because then The Release can be viewed for free for everyone from 20:00 through Q-dance Network and YouTube. Defqon.1 2022 – Primal Energy takes place from Thursday 23 June to Sunday 26 June: the last tickets for the Friday and Sunday of the festival will be available from next week via the official website.
