Defqon.1 Festival 2020 officially cancelled: “Words cannot describe how we feel”
By Nina van Zelst
Tonight it was announced all events in The Netherlands are officially cancelled until the 1st of September. This also means the biggest harder styles festival in the world – Defqon.1 – will unfortunately not take place this year.
Every year thousands of music lovers from over 100 nationalities unite at wasted lands of Biddinghuizen, to visit one of the absolute highlights of the festival season: Defqon.1. Unfortunately the upcoming edition ‘Primal Energy’ has been postponed to 2021, since all events in The Netherlands are forbidden until the 1st of September due to the coronavirus.
“It is with a heavy heart that we have to inform you that, due to the global COVID-19 developments and the necessary precautions taken by the authorities, the 2020 edition of Defqon.1 Weekend Festival will be postponed to 2021.
Words cannot describe how we feel about this news. For months, we’ve been working around the clock to provide you with the ultimate festival experience together with our artists, creators and warriors. We cannot imagine a summer without Defqon.1, however, your health and safety is the top priority. It is in times like these that we must stay united as one tribe. Together, we stand.”
“Forever as one tribe.”
Defqon.1 – Primal Energy has been moved to (for now) the final weekend of June in 2021, for which all purchased tickets will remain valid. To be kept updated on the latest news, you can keep an eye on the Defqon.1 socials. Read the full statement down below.
