Dreamfields Festival is busy behind the scenes with the upcoming edition of the 10th of July: even the well-known (but especially beautiful) phoenix stage is already being built. Whether this will actually take place is still the question, but if it is up to organizer David Brons of Matrixx, then it is going to happen with the usual 30.000 people: “We are not going to make selections.”

Some of the major festivals of this summer have already been canceled, while for others there are opportunities due to (among other things) the guarantee fund from the Dutch government. In a few weeks, the first test festivals will also be in Biddinghuizen, where it is being investigated if it is possible to hold events again.

David Brons of the Matrixx organization tells Dutch newspaper de Gelderlander that Dreamfields refuses to throw in the towel. With hope on less corona restrictions, Dreamfields will finally be able to celebrate its tenth edition on the 10th of July. “If it is allowed, we are ready for it. We do not know what the conditions are in the field of rapid tests. I do not want to anticipate that either. But we are not up for allowing less people on our festival site. We are not going to select, that we allow half the people and half not. Dreamfields is there for everyone.”

Part of the line-up is already known: regarding the harder styles, D-Block & S-te-Fan, Warface & Act of Rage and B-Front are on the program. A large part of the 30.000 tickets has already been sold. “The playbook is ready when the green light comes. If Dreamfields is canceled again, the tickets will remain valid for the next edition.”

“Dreamfields Festival is for everyone”

The anniversary edition of Dreamfields Festival at Recreational Park Rhederlaag is scheduled for Saturday the 10th of July 2021. For tickets and more information, go to the official website of the event.
