The cabinet will announce tonight that the Netherlands will open a little more from the 30th of June. This is earlier than expected, but from the date mentioned, major events should again be allowed: with and without access tests.

These are steps 4 and 5 of the Dutch opening plan, which follows next week’s steps of easing the measures. This means that major festivals and events can be held again: both with and without access tests. Discotheques and nightclubs can finally reopen – but under certain conditions.

Due to the rapid decline in infection rates and the occupancy rate in hospitals, the cabinet will open up Dutch society earlier. Major festivals should be allowed to take place again from the 30th of June. “Festivals such as Lowlands (which is at the same location as Defqon.1, ed.), where many people walk around, could continue with access tests”, reports RTL Nieuws. This is without the 1.5 meters (social) distance and here may be a maximum of 75% of the regular number of visitors.

Dreamfields Festival, Dominator and others, announced that their editions have already been moved to 2022, because this would be too early to welcome the large numbers from all over the world. For the time being, Decibel outdoor is still planned for this summer, with three days of harder styles.
