MYST quits: “I’ll make 1 last track”
MYST has just announced that he is ending his career as a DJ and producer. The Nightbreed Records member even released another album this year, but is now hanging up his headphones for good: “I feel like I’ve just hit the tip of the iceberg, when it comes to the challenges I want to face.”
“Make History Before You Go” is perhaps the best-known piece of lyrics in MYST’s discography. After 3 albums and major bookings such as Defqon.1 and many other festivals, the hardstyle DJ is calling it a day. “I have a hard message to share with you today. I have chosen to end my career as a dj.
So I will stop performing and stop producing hardstyle as MYST.”
“I have made this decision because I want to focus on different creative areas in my life. And after almost 15 years of producing hard dance, I have chosen to see what there is more to discover. This year I have released my album, and the reactions on it where overwhelming, I couldn’t have asked for a better response. But I feel like I’ve just hit the tip of the iceberg, when it comes to the challenges I want to face.”
MYST stops after 15 years in hard dance
It’s not the last we’ll hear from MYST though. “I’ll make one last track.” This month, MYST was supposed to be on the line-up of a sold-out Reverze, but he has just been replaced by Devin Wild. We wish MYST all the best and he definitely ‘Made History Before He Goes’.
