In the beginning of 2015 Headhunterz posted a video on his Facebook page where he thanked his fans for everything that he, thanks to them, was able to experience during his career. The video went viral and while some people already saw it coming, it was still a shock for many that he decided to say goodbye to the Hardstyle scene.

Yesterday the impossible happened. Weeks in advance people had been speculating about the members of Defqon.1 Legends. Last year there were three of them, Noisecontrollers, Wildstylez and Isaac, who opened The Closing Ceremony on the mainstage of Defqon.1. The clock struck 20:00 and everyone was impatiently waiting on what was to come.

A few hours earlier Headhunterz posted several pictures and videos on his Snapchat (@itsheadhunterz) that provided shivers. He was in the plane on his way to The Netherlands and asked his tour manager where they were going. He answered that they were going home to which Headhunterz replied “Is that so?” Now I know that doesn’t seem like much, but when he posted a picture of him listening to ‘Dragonborn’ the hype became real.

So, the clock struck 20:00 and the intro started playing. When the Defqon.1 Legends were announced Technoboy and The Prophet rose from behind their decks and people started cheering. These two can rightfully call themselves legends so they deserve a spot. But, there was no Headhunterz. Or was there? Because after the first track things became quiet and a second intro started playing. “True dragonblood never dies. Tonight we celebrate the return of a highly honored warrior. An absolute legend and a true Defqon.1 friend. His creative path lead him to other horizons. But today, he sets foot on this holy ground once more. Weekend warriors, show your unconditional respect for.. The man they call.. HEADHUNTERZ!”

As you can imagine the entire audience exploded and everyone was overwhelmed with joy and disbelieve when the saw him climbing the stage. There he was, with a big fat smile on his face, while his track ‘Dragonborn’ was playing in the background. People were yelling, people were dancing and people were even crying. We did our best to capture the entire set through a livestream on Facebook so thousands of fans that couldn’t make it could still enjoy this historical moment. Check out the footage below and enjoy the show yourself.
